I have created a list in SharePoint (MOSS 2007) to track the weekly hours IT resources are spending on various projects. I have a column named Resource Name of type Person or Group. I have selected to Choose From: SharePoint Group: IT Members in order to limit the selections to IT staff only. Most users will enter this information a Datasheet view. The problem being, All Users show up in the Resource Name field's dropdown in the Datasheet View (if I create it via the "New" button, only the Resource Names in the specified group can be selected). Is this just one of those crazy SharePoint things?!?! Or am I missing something?

That sounds like a crazy SharePoint thing. The control in the form knows it should limit options to the IT Members group but Datasheet View seems to have its own control that ignores the filter.
I'm adding this post to my favorites for further investigation. I'll let you know if I find anything--please do the same. This may even quality for a Microsoft KB article.
