I am very new to sharepoint, but am wanting to setup a site where I can post my internal newsletters for our users. I want a subscription option like yours. Can you tell me what base sharepoint template you used for this site and some possible options for setting it up, without giving away all your proprietary secrets? ;-)

  2. BejeweledOne,

EndUserSharePoint uses Wordpress! While the SharePoint blog template has RSS capabilities, it will require you to log in and many RSS readers do not have that capability. Outlook's reader should work fine. You also have the ability to create Alerts to update users or (if you have SPD) you can create an email workflow to notify people of a new/changed article.

So, if we had primary sharepoint site, I could use Wordpress on a subsite?

  4. Just a note, so you'll be aware...
Any list or library can be "subscribed" to in SharePoint, using the "Alert Me" feature.
    This is Out-of-Box

  5. Wordpress is a PHP application, it has nothing to do with SP. While I'm sure you could run them both on the same server, most people would avoid it.

You probably want to look into the blog template, publishing site, and/or the CKS (community kit for sharepoint on codeplex). Laura is right, you probably want to stick with the basic functions like RSS and Alert me.
