Mapped MySite as a Shared Drive

    Hi,

    Is it possible to have a users MySite replace the users mapped drive?

    Also users have problems saving docs to SharePoint when they haven't used a particular site before i.e. they go File | Save As ... My Network Places but the SharePoint doc libraries of the site they want to save to do not show up there. They then go try to map it and fail.

    How to make saving to SharePoint as easy as possible?

    Yup.

    Am also interested in how other people are handling the first time save to a new SharePoint site?

    With NTLM, as long as you are logged into your machine with the same account (on the domain) and you have the new Office, you should have seemless login from the client app as well as the browser. Your mileage may vary depending on SSL and browser settings.

    I think most tighly-managed domains use GPOs to create the network places, IE trust relationships, and cert trust.
