How to retain group totals in XSLT data views

    I had added web parts displaying sorted/grouped views of my vendor list. The grops defaulted to collapsed and the totals for each group were displayed in the group header.

    In SPD, I right-clicked and changed them to XSLT data views so I could edit the hyperlinks.

    In doing so, the group totals are gone.

    How can I keep my web parts as data views but retain the totals showing in the headers?

    In your data view web part, go to the "Sort and Group" screen. Then, select the field to group by, and then on the right on that screen, click "show group footer", and click the "Advanced Grouping" button. Put a check box next to "show column totals per group".
