SharePoint Conference 2009: Special Room Rate ($50.00)
I was talking with people at SharePoint Saturday in Chicago about where they are going to stay in October for the SharePoint Conference 2009. The advertised conference rate of $149.00 pushes the budget a bit… for five days that comes to over $745 plus tax and expenses.
Turns out, the Luxor, right across the street from the convention, has rooms for under $50.00. Don’t believe it? I didn’t either until I booked a room and got confirmation: five nights for a total of $250.00 plus tax and expenses. I still didn’t believe it, so I called the Luxor and got confirmation that everything is set.
Wow! That pretty much paid for my flight and hotel to Chicago for SharePoint Saturday. Thanks guys.
Update: I got a message from Becky saying the base price has increased to $85.00. Must be all the traffic from EndUserSharePoint.com :-) Grab it while you can.

Leave a note below if you get a room. Others will be interested. Thanks. — Mark
Sunday-Friday ALL hotels in Vegas offer great deals. If the Luxor is getting filled and raising prices, try another one. I also know you can get GREAT deals if you join a hotel chain’s Member’s Club. These clubs are free to join and have locations all over.
You star! Just halved the cost of my hotel bill. Admittedly, not quite down to $250 owing to couldn’t resist an upgrade but heck of an improvement. I definitely owe you a drink :-)
Thanks mate! Just booked for $45 :)
Owe you a drink. Catch you there.
I’m going to get completely wasted with all these drink offers. Anyone want to spring for dinner? — Mark
Mark, awesome stuff, man. I didn’t necessarily need the discount, but I am now able to get a Pyramid Spa Suite for only $101/night – way cheaper still while being much cooler than 149/179 at the other two.
I’m on the Live Blogger/Twitter “team” you started, and I’d be happy to spring for dinner if you want to send me an email. I’ll be there Sunday night through late Friday as I plan to attend the 2010 Admin session on Friday.
