EndUserSharePoint.com: Show of hands… who bought Spore this weekend?
I’ve been waiting since way before March for September 7 to get here. Spore officially went on sale today. I had a pre-purchase on Amazon with a Prime, two day shipping.

I went to my local shop to find it hadn’t arrived :( Bought Mass Effect instead, which is amazingly good :)

Mass Effect is a space based single player role playing game, made by the same guys who did the first Knights of the Old Republic (if you played that, and enjoyed it, you will love this).
It’s not entirely open ended role playing. There is a main story which you follow with small spin off quests you can take for loot and XP, but all in all you follow a specific story path.

Chris – I’m teaching in California all week so please honor your elders and do not open your Spore package until I get back to New York. It just wouldn’t be fair…
I walked into a Game Stop tonight after dinner and saw six Spore packages left. I have to say, it made me think twice, but no, I’m waiting till I get back.

Be warned if you buy and install this game, it does have anti-piracy software on it.
