I am looking for a 3rd party tool for Disaster recovery for SharePoint. Do you have any recommendations or know of anyone that has compared them

My Marketing department approached me this week and they are interested in using SharePoint to manage their marketing campaigns. In particular, they were interested in the ability to manage contact lists. Sounds simple enough.

This one showed up in my email box this afternoon. I thought it could provoke a nice discussion on the best practices for developing navigation in SharePoint.

Can you point us to a resource that lists ALL available web parts, no third parties please, and tells which version of SharePoint in which they are available?

I am a SharePoint end-user training designer, developer, and teacher working for the provincial government of Ontario in Canada, and I find both the demand for and supply of strictly end-user training for SharePoint is relatively small compared to how important I FEEL the need is. This feeling of mine is based on trying to roll out SharePoint in our large organization. I’d appreciate any comments you might have for me

In my first post, I had mentioned that the mighty Data View web part (DVWP) has many potential applications in the real world. While thinking about what I wanted to show in my first example of the DVWP, I felt inspired by Mark and his team who had created a Quote of the Day web part (QOTD as termed by Mark) using the Content Editor web part (CEWP) and some javascript… a very nifty solution. The quotes in that web part are embedded within so you can change them by directly going to the source editor of CEWP.
The solution that I have presented in this article is a bit different from the other QOTD. It utilizes the DVWP as the presentation component.

It occurred to the team that it [...]

The question of the day comes from Jennifer at Stump the Panel:
When Content Approval is enabled for a doc. library or list who is considered the Approver? Is it possible to change the Approver?
Here’s a direct quote from the ‘Help’ menu in SharePoint:
“When this content approval setting is applied, an item or file that [...]
