Hi -

I would like to create an editable DVWP that gets it's source data from another library or list (in realtime) and is editable. Is this possible?

Here is a link to my original post on ES:

When you say "gets it's source data from another library or list (in realtime) and is editable", what do you mean? You can only edit a single DataSource in a DVWP. However, it may be possible to *display* values from other sources in the form.

I would love to know how to do that (display values from other sources in the form) – the drop down list with its “data fields…” dialog is easy to connect to another list (all values from a column in another list) once you've added another data source – I want to display a single value from a column in another list by passing the ID of the item in the other list that I want the value from.

- I’ve tried aggregate data sources (but I was unable to make the dvwp editable)
- I’ve looked at ddwrt:databind along with asp and sharepoint controls (dropdown list: yes; but just to display as described above: no)

One of these may actually be the right approach but I have not been able to get any of them to work yet.

A point in the right direction would be much appreciated.
