Hi Christophe,

The Easy Tabs web part is awesome. On a page with Easy Tabs (let's say we have 4 web parts), is it possible to exclude one? The scenario is I'd like a CEWP at top with a title and description, and then want the other web parts in tabbed view below.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

In v3 (the jQuery version that the workshop participants receive), it is possible: just hide the title of a Web Part, and the Easy Tabs will ignore it.

In v2, doing this triggers an error. I'll correct this (along with a couple other enhancements) in the next release I announced for February.

Note that the tabs will still be at the top of the Web Part zone. In your case, the CEWP would always be displayed under the tabs, whatever tab is selected.

Christophe

Great webpart, and thanks for it

However is there a way we can prevent the webpart to go to the top of the webpart zone and display all the webparts below it as tabs..

I want only 4 of 6 webparts on the zone to be shown as tabs...

Thanks

I'll release a new version of the Easy Tabs next week. In the new version, if you hide the title of a Web Part then the Easy Tabs will ignore it (just as it did for those who have v3).

Christophe, I'm using the new version of the Easy Tabs lite, and on my computer screen from home it appears as it should, all web parts are nested under the tabs with the bottom 2 below the Easy Tabs Lite web part not included (web parts 1-5 are tabbed, [6 is the CEWP with Easy Tabs lite], 7 & 8 are visible below). But when I go on-site, the staff computers show web parts 1-5 and 8 as tabbed, but #7 is not. #7 is a CEWP with a hyperlink, #8 is a summary links wp. The summary links show as the first tab - that is the other weird part, it is actually the last wp on the page.

It is not the only script I have on the page, I have the weather on there too. I have set the title to none, border only - but the last summary links web part still tabs as #1. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Kerri, could it be that you're using Intenet Explorer 6 at work?

...

A couple more things to look at:
- are there other customizations on the page, for example links to external scripts that would have a different behavior whether you are inside or outside of the office?
- did you do your tests with the same account? If not, look for personalized pages or different permissions.

I'm having problems with the Easy Tabs. It works on some sites and not others. The sites with CEWP that have information ie. Department/section title or Mission Statement are not working :(. How can I get them to work? I checked your site for the updates and download the information and still having problems. I hope to be able to use the 'color' tabs soon. I can send you screen shots, hope you can help.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank, start by using v5, the new version accepts a wider range of Web Parts. Then make sure the header is visible for all the Web Parts that should show up as tabs.
