I'm building several functionalities in SharePoint (MOSS 2007) and am getting into more advanced requirements. I know this is probably a very basic question, but:

Is there some reference where I can find a collection of "Pre-defined" parameters (I'm using the DVWP)? For instance, when I am setting up a hyperlink and want to pass the url of the page, do I have to define the "URL" parameter or is it (and others like SiteID, etc...) built in? Is there a list of these and their definitions somewhere?

Thanks,
Kirkster

Some things can be built up from IIS server variables and others can be built up from internal fields. When you expand the list/library datasource, you'll see some of these fields (I can provide you with more detailed examples when I get into the office tomorrow). When you combine IIS server variables with these list/library fields, it means everything becomes dynamic in nature and you have very little hard coding of things which is great.

Thanks Eric. I look forward to learning some of these. I don't want to be setting up parameters and variables when I could use things that are already built in. I look forward to your input on this and appreciate your help.

Some common parameters I use are HTTP_URL and HTTP_PATH to build up source query string parameters for hyperlinks. Those are IIS Server variables that can be used as parameters. Some native list/library fields helpful in constructing hyperlinks are Path and URL Path.
