I have a 'Using Dashboards in SharePoint' question. We are a military hospital using MOSS standard for our Intranet and would like to build a dashboard for our Command Group to see 'real time' if possible. One of the main points is viewing the real-time current workload within the facility and literally watch it change up and down (may have to click "refresh"/F5).

As I replied to your email to me:
You can definitely do something like this by combining a DVWP (or two or three) with scripting for the real time updates. By using jQuery and SPServices to call the Web Services, you can have refreshes happen every x minutes or whatever time you set.

How would I go about doing this? What is the best way? Until I get approved funding, I would like to use the dashboard “This is what SharePoint 2010 and a Dashboard can do for the hospital.” I have a meeting today in reference to the funding and SharePoint. There many other points I will be discussing. Check out the link and this is my idea for a end result.

Thanks for the response
