Recently we had an issue where a few users opened a document library in Windows Explorer view. When they clicked on the thread to go back one level, the screen that displayed was empty, however, with my admin rights, the folders were there. I checked permissions and the users only had Read rights to the document library. Once Contribute rights were given, they were able to click the thread back one level and view all folders. Just wanted to verify that this is what is supposed to happen or if there is another underlying issue that needs to be resolved.

Thanks!! Love the new site!

I would have to test it, but I do believe that as long as you have read access you should be able to see the folders. However, there are some strange behaviors from time to time because you're not actually viewing files on a disk. You are viewing files stored in a database. When they navigate up one level, try hitting F5 within the explorer window when navigating up one level. This should force a refresh and thus reload the folders.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tested this using the F5 key and still the same result, no folders showed for the user when he had only Read rights. Contribute rights and everything was there. Thanks again.
