Hi all,
I am currently creating a custom form and I have a percent field that I can't see where to have the "%" show up.
Also I would like to have a total field at the bottom of the group where is will flag the user that the total does not equal 100%. I tried condiotional formatting where the total field must = 100, but it did not work. I am sure I missed something.

On another note.......
Can someone tell me the benefits of my form creating columns in my list?

TIA,
Joe

When published, the form will create a content type and associated columns so it can easily be maintained via updates to the form and easily managed in a Document Library. You don't have to worry about having them precreated, just define them as promoted columns in the Form Options and it will take care of everything when published.

Instead of conditional formatting you'll want to use Rules and/or Validation. Conditional formatting won't enforce them to enter something that totals 100%. I'm still a bit green on InfoPath forms. I'm getting a trial by fire this week as users are experiencing trouble with a form they've uploaded and are using.

thanks for the response. I tried all those solutions, but message boxes do not showup in browser enabled forms. I am trying to force them to enter 100%, I need the form not to NOT save or throw an error if the total of all the fields dont = 100%.

Tahnks again,
Joe
